And you may have already heard that last Friday, two young climate activists were apparently channeling Andy Warhol when they splashed tomato soup on the protective glass of Vincent van Gogh's "Sunflowers" at the National Gallery in London. The museum has confirmed with Hyperallergic that the painting was quickly cleaned (no damage) and already back on view by the end of the day. I created a commentary on TikTok (crossposted on Instagram) that points out this is what happens when the ultra-rich are not held accountable for their role in the climate crisis while being celebrated and feted by museums and other art institutions.
