ArtReview’s China edition out now

View this email in your browser ArtReview is pleased to announce the launch of its first foreign-language edition, available from 10 November, during Shanghai Art Week. The new magazine is a collaboration between leading international contemporary art magazine ArtReview, founded in 1949, and Yishu Shijie, a renowned Chinese art journal. The publication is the first Chinese-language edition in the ArtReview stable and will be published four times a year, alongside continuous WeChat publication of editorial, key events and partner content. The Chinese edition combines translations of key articles from ArtReview's and ArtReview Asia's international art coverage with new and emerging Chinese writing about the Chinese art scene. In doing so, it aims to deepen the discourse between Chinese and international contemporary art at a time when the world seems more divided than it has been in many years. In keeping with the ArtReview format, the publication will position 'contemporary' as the place where the past meets the future, combining interviews, snapshots, feature articles and commentary to provide an accessible and witty interpretation of current issues. Highlights of the debut issue include a cover by artist Cao Fei and an in-depth conversation with science-fiction writer Wang Kanyu on the metaverse and future city-states; a preview section featuring the latest exhibitions of interest from around the world; and a comprehensive review section covering major international shows, as well as book reviews of recent art historical and literary publications.
